At a basic level, Okay Doctor’s mission is to literally help Medics to Get Out of Medicine.
Medicine has one of the highest suicide rates of any profession. And before this day is over, at least one Doctor will choose to kill themselves because they feel frustrated, depressed, overwhelmed and stuck with no way out.
So if I can help that Doctor to make a different choice…One where they choose life…then this project will have been a tremendous success.
But in parallel with that, Okay Doctor seeks to figuratively help Medics to get out Medicine, and engage with the amazing opportunities for making a difference.
That’s because Medicine is going away.
Not today, and not next week. But within the next 20 years, the institution of Medicine and traditional Healthcare as we know it, is going away…forever.
And in its place we’ll have an open source global network of trillions of connected AI-powered “doctors”, that monitors, protects and maintains the health of every person on the planet.
In that world, to say you want to be a doctor will make as much sense as saying you want to be a shoe or a lightbulb.
And 20 years from now, when we can produce an AI robot with access to the knowledge of every part of the global network…as well as the totality of human knowledge across multiple fields…in just 5 minutes…today’s healthcare worker will be completely irrelevant.
